I love the colour purple and all it's different shades.  Like these fall Asters in my garden. In the sun, they're a bright purple.  When it's overcast they're a beautiful dark shade. Historically, purple was associated with royalty or wealth because it was a difficult colour to reproduce. The colour did not come from plant based dyes. It came from the mucus of small mediterranean snails. That must have been a difficult, smelly job! On that note, I'm going segue onto this recent piece that I made.  It's a dark purple amethyst chip bracelet and it's designed for casual, everyday wear.  Take a look at it here .

I made the frame for this bird pendant necklace some time ago and finally got around to finishing it.  It's embellished with green and black seed beads and hangs from a dark gray chain with a lobster claw clasp.  It's a fun, earthy style necklace for the nature lover. Check it out here.

Typically dark blues, like navy or royal blue work well with warm gold, but I think the lighter blue of the lapis stones that I've selected along with the gold seed beads adds a softness. These dangle earrings are suited for casual wear to a date night. I've listed them here.

I believe this little guy is a brown lipped snail or cepaea nemoralis - and it's everywhere in the garden.  Apparently, it's an invasive species here although it's a common species in Europe. Aside from eating decaying plant matter and fungi, they just hang out and multiple.
